Kiuna – First Nations Post-Secondary Institution
Kiuna, the New First Nations Post-Secondary Institution, opened it’s doors for their first semester on August 20, 2011.
There are currently 9 students from Kahnawake attending Kiuna, some living in the campus housing.
Congratulations to the First Nations Education Council (FNEC) and administration of Kiuna on this outstanding accomplishment!
We wish the students best of luck on their new journey!!

Filmmaker Angie-Pepper O’Bomsawin profiles the new college (CEGEP), Kiuna, which was founded to serve the Aboriginal community.
The directors and students talk in this short documentary about the benefits of learning in an educational institution that incorporates Aboriginal culture and world view.
The college is called “Kiuna”, which means “ours” in Abenaki.
